Hugh Carspecken is the Managing Director of Ubiquity Edge, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ubiquity General Management. Ubiquity Edge specializes in last-mile digital infrastructure, owning and operating hyper-local edge data centers across the country. These centers service a diverse clientele, including cellular providers, fiber providers, Big Box Retailers, and a growing number of AI providers.

Hugh’s career has always been centered around the edge. He has founded three companies in this space, ranging from cellular backhaul to data center interconnection to edge data centers. His expertise in the field dates back to when it was still referred to as telecom access.

Under Hugh’s leadership, the management team at Ubiquity has developed a deep understanding of the last mile—the crucial connection between the ultimate end user and the first layer of infrastructure. Ubiquity is not only a key player in edge data centers but also in local fiber markets, smart cities, and smart buildings, making it a leader in the holy grail of edge and last-mile assets.
